Braiding and lacing

Most braiding techniques find their origin in Australia. The most well known technique is probably the technique of braiding bullwhips as in 'Indiana Jones' movies.

Whips are not the only items you can make by braiding. Horse gear, belts en knots can also be made with several braiding techniques, which gives the items a unique look.

The lacing technique is often used to decorate the edges of a saddle, belt or bag. It looks very complicated, but with the right instructions and some practice you can do it too.

There are several illustrated books available to help you along. You can find the needles, lace, books and other materials in our web shop.
